A warm welcome to the middle years!
Ilminster is a special place. It is special because it manages to combine high expectations of academic achievement with an all encompassing emphasis on positive relationships. There is a feeling of extraordinary vibrancy, dynamism, warmth and fun. Our mission statement is that we will meet the needs of individuals through programmes that emphasize academic achievement and social and cultural awareness is alive and well. We believe in delivering an authentic educational experience that is deliberate, rigorous and inspires our learners to think, be challenged and engaged in their learning.
These two years are a unique and special time of enormous physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Our outstanding team of teachers are specialists in working with students of this age. They bring passion, energy and expertise to their classrooms and have relationships with our students that are warm, supportive and based on mutual respect. In our current climate of managing with Covid they have demonstrated continued commitment to our learning community. Our Board continues to be focussed on ensuring that what we do is good for all of our students.
Our school wide values of being inclusive and accepting, safe, positive, respectful and responsible are infused through all that we do. Our students are happy and engaged. They embrace opportunity and challenge, and develop strong positive relationships regardless of which primary school they went to or which suburb they live in. We are very proud of them and the rich and vibrant community they create.
We look forward to welcoming and meeting you.
Nau mai, Haere Mai.
