School Facilities

Gymnasium

Ilminster Intermediate has a full size gymnasium. We love this fantastic space which is well utilised in school and by the community. It has two full basketball courts, netball, badminton and volleyball courts. Students use this for daily fitness and PE programmes.

Arts and Culture

Ilminster offers a range of musical opportunities each year; bands and groups: composing, performing. We have competitive theatre sports teams and an annual whole school Variety Show along with the well known touring group The Green Team. Our Kapa Haka group welcomes and performs regularly at special events.

Library

Our library is a well resourced facility, providing our students with a spacious, comfortable environment where they can relax and read. We have a large modern collection and all students also have access to our online libraries which offer audio books, graphic novels and high interest books that support students inquiry and recreational reading. Chrome books are provided in all classrooms.

Swimming Pool

We have a 25 metre swimming pool which provides all students with an opportunity to participate in our swimming programmes during Terms one and four along with lunch time swimming and special swimming programmes.

Sports and Exchanges

We have an active lunchtime house competition programme where participation and enjoyment are key elements (along with hearty competition!). Ilminster participates in a range of exchanges in the Bay of Plenty as well as the NZ Aims Games. Along with our annual exchanges with Taupo, Taradale and Northcross Intermediates, our students are also involved in Otago Problem Solving, ePro8, Rugby 7s, Touch Rugby, Volleyball, Chess, Netball, Hockey, Basketball, Athletics, Gymnastics, Cross Country, Softball, MultiSport, Table Tennis, Indoor Bowls, Ki-o-rahi.
