PE Sport Hauora

In PE our students work together, to develop teamwork through positive communication, cooperation and reflection.
They will develop an understanding of the rules and etiquette of games as well as learning skills and strategy. On a personal level our programme aims to improve motor skills that promote coordination, biomechanics, muscle control and safe movement.

A student who is healthy and well is a student who is ready to learn, grow, connect, engage, relate, manage, excel, contribute and thrive.

Our focus on Hauora at Ilminster Intermediate is embodied by Whare Tapa Wha:

Taha wh?nau - the people we care about, who recharge us and make us feel we belong.
Taha wairua - taking notice and appreciating the beauty around us.
Taha tinana - how our body feels and how we care for it.

Navigating the Journey is a comprehensive, age appropriate programme which explores health related concepts such as identity, self-worth, relationships, gender, sexuality, stereotypes and body image.
